The Clymer book says the compression pressure should be 1000 - 1400 kPa (142 - 200 psi).

If your compression drops below this, start with the cheapest job first - take off the head and grind in the valves.
While you have the head off, inspect the barrel for ware. If the valve job doesn't improve the compression pressure enough, remove the barrel and piston and have it checked for ware. If you have excessive ware, you will have to buy an oversized piston and have the barrel rebored.
These jobs are covered in the Clymer book.

I think i've covered everything - does anyone else want to add anything?
